This is the best day of my life!

For the past weeks I was looking for a new laptop. Not because my old one is broken ir anything, but it was taken from me because on the 28th of October 2025 "I did not do anything productive".

So, since then I am stuck with 2 laptops that they were hidden as a backup. Those 2 laptops are the Dell Latitude E5570 and the Fujitsu Lifebook S752, which were very helpful for the past week. Anyway! Now let's get into the topic!

I was looking for a new laptop, because let's be real, my main laptop (the Dell G3 3500) had enough. So, I started looking through business class laptop. Because I heard they were the best ones build, but they were expensive! Like one would be around the 30000 RON mark, which was already too expansive for a laptop.

And in that moment, I remembered a laptop manufacture which made laptop to last, and to be a worthy investment. Framework! Framework is one of the BEST laptop manufactures to ever exist! And that's why I considered a laptop from them will be a no-brainer!

Now originally, I settled for my laptop configuration to be under 16000 RON. But after giving my phone to my mom, I think she was like: "He wants only 32 GB of RAM? Let's make that 96!". And that's how the laptop became around 18000 RON (tax not included). Personally, I did not expect her to do such a move. But I guess I was wrong!

Now, because I felt bad for wanting an object which was that expensive. I said to her that I will pay a small amount of money. And she said that with my money or not, she will save money for the laptop. My mind was blowing of happiness! Like I will 100% get it!

But he put a condition to this deal. My dream of getting a Framework, would only become a reality if I get into high school. Now, I respect that decision, it's completely understandable. So, from now on if I want to get that Framework laptop, I will need to learn really bad. Because my grades are not good by any means, and if I want to get into high school, my grades need to be better than 5 for Romanian and math.

And now with that said. I might not post for a while... So, have a great morning, afternoon, night, whatever!

New video this weekend!

Ok, so it's Monday. Everyone hates Monday. But Monday it's the first day of the week, and this week will be a special one for me!

One year ago, I was in a village near Timișoara. Even though the weather was rough; I still enjoyed my time there! I wanted to go to the village this year too, but because I can't, I'm stuck in Timișoara. At least I'm not too far from the edge of the city, and I can go there whenever I want! And because this week it's also Halloween, I think it would be cool to film a short video with the laptop I talked about in the last post.

Also, I want to promote a small music artist from Canada. To be more specific Nova Scotia. Now he is bigger than me, but he's most played song has about 28K plays. And the second most played has only 623 plays. It's so said seeing a talented person having only small numbers compared to the big masses. But if I think about it, it's probably ok that he's not a big artist. If he were, the charm would disappear.

Now I realized that I've been talking about this artist for a whole paragraph, but I didn't reveal his name! He's name is GAKHED. Now of course I will give him credit! And I will do it the friendliest way possible, by linking directly to its website! So, here it is!

Now as for the video, it will mainly be a Halloween special. But who knows what I may be adding?

Why Ubuntu and Linux in general is great!

My brain just committed something called thinking, which resulted in an idea. That idea is that I should make a video about how Ubuntu and Linux in general is great for older hardware, especially on laptops, since they are the dominant in my opinion.

The Fujitsu laptop as I currently writhing this post.
Now just for a little bit of context on how I came to this conclusion, I've recently found an old Fujitsu laptop from 2012 - 2013 just laying by the recycle bin when I came from school. Of course I was tempted by it, so I checked it for any serious damage and took it home. Once I got home, I power it on, and I saw that it had Windows 10 on it. Now because when I've found it was 14th of October, I thought that it would be funny to install Windows 7 on it. So, that's what I did!

After the installation was completed, I found out that some software I wanted to use did not support Windows 7 anymore (that wasn't surprising). So, I thought about another operating system that would work great on here. And there it came to me, Ubuntu! Ubuntu was the default operating system that came pre-installed on my main laptop, but because I use mainly Windows only software, I've installed Windows on it. And because I want this Fujitsu to be more like a just in case backup, Ubuntu was a no brainer.

The "number pad".
I originally intended to install Ubuntu alongside Windows 7, but because of the limited hard drive space that it has (it only has a 128 GB SSD), I opted to have installed Ubuntu only. For some reason, Ubuntu installed with a UEFI loader, but this laptop doesn't even have a UEFI BIOS. Putting this oddity aside it runs pretty well! And under Ubuntu, I've managed to get the battery to last 6 hours. 6 HOURS!

Now I'm writing this blog post on the Fujitsu laptop, I can't tell if the writing experience is bad or not. But one downside that this laptop has, is that it doesn't have a proper number pad. I love having a number pad on a laptop and on a physical keyboard in general. Now this Fujitsu laptop has a "number pad" but it's more like a function key. You have to press a key (like you would do to activate caps lock), and then simultaneously while pressing the function key press the letters U, I, O, J, K, L, and M. Which are part of the "number pad".

The ON or OFF Wi-Fi switch.
The overall experience with this thing is that I love the long battery life and having a slider in the front to turn ON or OFF the Wi-Fi. Now I like Ubuntu as well, but I think it's too overrated to say it. Every Linux distribution is great in its own way!

As for the video I was talking at the beginning, I'm planning to release it by the next weekend. But if I delay it, I apologize in advance.
